Allerton castle is easy to find

From the A1(M) jct 47, take the exit towards York then take an immediate left turn towards the A168.

(do not enter the castle from the a59 as the castle operates a one-way TRAFFIC flow as this is the exit – warning – this is where sat-navs usually take you)

Turn right towards Boroughbridge and drive along the estate wall for almost half a mile. Turn right through the gateway marked Allerton Castle.

Continue along the driveway towards Allerton Castle and follow the signs for parking.

when leaving, You will exit South towards the A59 turning right to return to the A1(M) or left towards York.

There are ample options for accommodation in the local area with the towns of Harrogate and knaresborough close by.

While there is plenty of parking available you may wish to get a taxi to and from the Castle.

We strongly recommend pre-booking taxis ahead of time especially for the end of the night as it is rural and there will be extremly limited options otherwise. The party will conclude at midnight.

Due to the Great Hall’s delicate wooden floors, english heritage requires that heels should be no smaller than a postage stamp or alternatively heel covers can be worn which will be available at the venue.

Your presence at our special day is more than enough but should you want to send us a gift then we would greatly appreciate a contribution to our honeymoon.
